Job Title: IRB Model Development Manager

We are seeking an experienced IRB Model Development Manager to join our Risk Analytics team at Allied Irish Bank. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the design and delivery of predictive credit risk measurement models.

About the Role:

The IRB Model Development Manager will play a leading role in the redevelopment of existing and new IRB models for specialised lending under the bank's IRB rollout plan. You will work closely with our colleagues across the Business, Credit Risk, and the Chief Data Office to develop and implement predictive models that impact core business elements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain predictive credit risk measurement models, including Probability of Default (PD), Loss Given Default (LGD), and Exposure at Default (EAD) models.
  • Manage a team of quantitative analysts, providing coaching and guidance on technical skills and core behavioural competencies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the Business, Finance, and Risk to deliver solutions to business problems.
  • Engage with regulatory bodies as part of the ongoing cycle of regulatory review of our models.
  • Contribute to the development of standards, methodologies, and toolsets required to perform analytic activities.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in model development, risk management, and credit risk analysis.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to coach and develop a team of quantitative analysts.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues across the Business, Finance, and Risk.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and maintain complex models.
  • Experience working with regulatory bodies and contributing to the development of standards and methodologies.
