About the Role

We are seeking two full-time Behaviour Mentors to join our team at Long-term Teachers Ltd, working in our Exeter provision. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a crucial role in supporting pupils who have had difficulty thriving in mainstream secondary schools, special schools, or are returning from out-of-county placements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high levels of support to students, often including 1:1 support and bespoke timetables following thematic learning experiences.
  • Design and deliver a wide range of personalised learning in and out of the classroom to engage students, build resilience, and provide a foundation for rapid academic progress.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement effective learning plans.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, identifying areas of strength and weakness.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
Requirements
  • Hold a current DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
  • Be confident working within small groups and 1:1.
  • Relevant experience working with children (or adults) with special educational needs.
  • A passion for working with children and young people in SEN settings.
  • Have a full UK driving licence and own vehicle.
  • Minimum of Level 2 qualification or equivalent.
