Exciting Opportunity at HMP Parc

Your new company, HMP Parc, is a Category B men's private prison for young offenders based in Bridgend, Mid-Glamorgan, Wales. As a mechanical engineer, you will be part of the Works Department, responsible for both reactive repairs and planned and preventative maintenance, as well as installation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Effectively and safely deal with breakdowns and fault-finding
  • Follow Health and Safety, G4S policies and regulations
  • Be involved in survey inspections for quality control, including confined spaces
  • Record and log all work
  • Provide equipment and services on site where necessary
  • Carry out maintenance inspections and repairs to various types of heating, water, ventilation, electrical, mechanical, and security equipment and services on site
  • Work collaboratively at various skill levels
  • Demonstrate security awareness within the prison environment
  • Promote a positive health and safety culture across the site, leading by example, and report any incidents or near misses in a timely and effective manner
What You'll Need to Succeed:
  • A City and Guilds Plumbing Craft Qualification or equivalent
  • NVQ level 2 or 3
  • Desirable qualifications: heating and ventilation, refrigeration, and air conditioning
  • Strong sense of teamwork, attention to detail, and security consciousness
