Position Summary
We are seeking a qualified actuary to become a vital member of our bulk annuity pricing division.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering pricing insights and collaborating with the broader BPA team to meet annual business objectives.


Key Responsibilities
  • Generate quotations and provide pricing insights for bulk annuity buy-ins and buy-outs.
  • Collaborate with the investment front office to identify appropriate assets for bulk annuity transactions.
  • Work alongside reinsurance actuaries to ensure reinsurance is accurately integrated within quotations.
  • Review legal agreements and contribute to contract negotiations with external partners.
  • Support business development and manage client relationships.
  • Assist in the enhancement of Canada Life's pricing frameworks and models that align with our risk tolerances and are scalable for future expansion.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and ensure adherence to risk governance protocols.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and developments to ensure our business processes and strategies remain competitive.
  • Provide necessary support to management and colleagues to implement recommendations and facilitate changes that align with business needs.

Desired Qualifications and Skills
  • In-depth knowledge of UK Defined Benefit pensions.
  • Familiarity with the bulk annuity market and its products.
  • Understanding of capital modeling and profit testing methodologies.
  • Experience in stakeholder management.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to senior stakeholders, including non-actuaries.
  • Knowledge of implementing and maintaining an actuarial control framework.
  • Must be a qualified actuary.
