About the Role

Wheelbase Cycles is seeking an experienced Retail Merchandiser and PAC Buyer to join our team at our Lake District head office.

This is a key role in our business, responsible for range planning and monitoring performance of Parts, Accessories and Clothing (PAC) from our industry leading cycling brands.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement product range plans to ensure optimal stock levels and sales performance.
  2. Manage relationships with suppliers, negotiating best cost prices, ordering stock, and agreeing delivery dates.
  3. Communicate product range plans to our Visual Merchandising, Retail, Stock, and eCommerce teams.
  4. Work closely with the Finance Director to forecast profits, sales, and plan budgets to control stock levels.
  5. Analyse sales data and report on key performance indicators at regular Buying and Merchandising meetings.
  6. Identify opportunities to maximise profits through promotions, markdowns, and pricing strategies.
  7. Stay up-to-date with competitor performance and cycling market trends.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in merchandising and/or retail/business management.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, including proficiency in Excel.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work well in a team.
  • Commercial acumen and the ability to understand customer needs.
  • Finance and/or business qualification preferred.
