Role Overview

The Heating and Plumbing Maintenance Specialist will be tasked with executing both scheduled and urgent maintenance tasks related to gas, plumbing, and mechanical systems across the Sewell Facilities Management portfolio. This encompasses general upkeep and repairs of heating units, boilers, water heating systems, domestic hot water systems, controls, and related apparatus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct both reactive and scheduled maintenance for commercial heating and plumbing installations.
  • Address urgent maintenance requests assigned by our Customer Care Team, ensuring all properties under Sewell Facilities Management are upheld to high standards.
  • Collaborate with and supervise external contractors as necessary to fulfill business requirements.
  • Detect, report, and rectify faults, ensuring maintenance standards are consistently met.
  • Respond to emergency callouts as part of the on-call rota system.
  • Adhere to health & safety regulations at all times to maintain a legally compliant property portfolio.
Requirements

Essential:
  • Full driving license, valid in the UK
  • Valid domestic & commercial gas certifications
  • Exhibit a positive & professional demeanor.
  • Proficient in computer use (Microsoft Office).
  • Proactive approach to both scheduled and urgent maintenance tasks.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of liaising effectively with contractors.
  • Excellent organizational abilities with the capacity to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • A positive attitude towards personal growth and development.
  • Flexibility regarding working hours (out-of-hours work will be necessary as part of the on-call rota).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of current health & safety practices.
Desirable:
  • F-Gas certification.
  • Experience in fault finding and maintenance of heating systems, including BMS.
  • Familiarity with air handling and fan coil units.
  • First aid certification.
  • Valid qualifications in air conditioning, refrigeration, and catering equipment.
  • 18th edition electrical certification and relevant experience.
