We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Gov Facility Services Ltd. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the smooth and safe operation of HMP Maidstone, a mens prison.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside experienced and passionate colleagues to maintain and repair mechanical systems, including plumbing, heating, and water systems.
  • Ensure compliance with Water Supply Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Facilities Maintenance Team to identify and resolve mechanical issues.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules to prevent equipment failures.
  • Provide excellent customer service to prisoners, staff, and visitors.

Requirements:

  • Two years experience working in a role as a plumber or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with and ability to work to Water Supply Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements.
  • Experience working on commercial or industrial heating and water systems.
  • Good working knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements.
  • Plumber qualified to C&G 6035 (Plumbing), C&G 6189 (Plumbing and heating) and NVQ level 3 in Plumbing or equivalent.
  • Good Health & Safety knowledge.
  • Excellent organisational, time management and people skills.
