The Senior Service Engineer plays a pivotal role in Senseco Systems Limited, overseeing the management of complex sites and providing expert technical support to customers. With a broad knowledge of various products, this individual is responsible for mentoring junior engineers, including out-of-hours support during on-call periods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer technical assistance to colleagues as needed, either through phone support or on-site visits.
  • Conduct regular engineer audits, reporting findings to the service supervisor, ensuring logbooks are accurate, and engineer worksheets are clear and concise.
  • Perform minor remedial and fault rectification works during PPM visits, supported by a separate call number and worksheet, and in conjunction with a written instruction/order from the client.
  • Provide technical knowledge, coaching, and support when required, setting the standard for other engineers and imparting knowledge on best practices.
  • Assist in the development of trainees, mentoring them in Senseco working methods and reporting progress or areas of concern to the Service Supervisor.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including report preparation and service call-out documentation.
  • Strong ability to form good working relationships with colleagues, customers, and external parties.
  • Initiative and attention to detail, considering the life safety industry's requirements.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong customer-facing skills.

Competencies:

  • Proven experience in the fire industry.
  • Proven ability to install, test, commission, and service Fire Alarm Systems and/or Security Systems.
  • Excellent servicing, diagnostic, and fault-finding skills, with the ability to resolve issues through elimination or technical recommendations.
  • Computer literacy, good general IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word, and understanding of software programming on mainline products.
  • Specialist knowledge and experience on a broader and higher technical range of equipment, such as Simplex, EST, Siemens, including software configuration and programming.
