Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Manager to join our team at Fred Perry. As a key member of our retail operations team, you will be responsible for supporting the Store Manager in the day-to-day running of the store, including managing cash handling, banking, and administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deputise for the Store Manager: In the absence of the Store Manager, you will be responsible for managing the store and ensuring that all operations run smoothly.
  • Cash Handling and Administration: You will be responsible for managing cash handling, banking, and associated administration, including ensuring that all till operations are carried out in line with the Fred Perry operations manual.
  • Support the Store Manager: You will work closely with the Store Manager to help meet Key Performance Indicator (KPI) budgets, communicating these to staff and motivating them to help achieve agreed targets.
  • Stock Control: You will assist the Store Manager in all aspects of stock control, including receipting transfers, monitoring stock levels, stock preparation, and presentation.
  • Customer Service: You will demonstrate excellent customer service to all customers and provide customers with expert information on the product range and its benefits.
  • Shop Operations Manual: You will be familiar with the shop operations manual, personnel, and Health and Safety policies.
  • KPI Results: You will communicate KPI results to Head Office and Area Manager in the absence of the Store Manager, including commentary on reports.
  • Issue Reporting: You will inform the Store Manager of any issues or non-compliance in reference to Fred Perry policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Experience in retail management is essential.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven experience in building effective teams and motivating employees.
  • Initiative and Adaptability: Strong initiative and leadership skills, with the ability to adapt quickly and react positively to business needs.
  • Retail Concepts: Understanding of various retail concepts, including gross margin, markdowns, and visual merchandising.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills.
