- Conduct proactive and preventative maintenance on various site equipment

- Assist in the training and development of onsite apprentices
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives and implement best practices across multiple EU locations
As an RME Technician, you will be stationed on-site, allowing for rapid response to any machinery concerns. You will carry out scheduled preventative maintenance on the equipment to ensure its safe operation. Additionally, you will promptly address breakdowns, investigating issues and implementing solutions as swiftly as possible. You will also have the opportunity to propose long-term enhancements.
Collaborating with senior team members, you will handle daily maintenance tasks such as plumbing and painting, and coordinate with contractors when external expertise is required.
Your work schedule will include various shifts to ensure our operations are supported around the clock, enabling Amazon to maintain its renowned delivery speed.
About the TeamThe Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team is dedicated to keeping our equipment functioning at peak performance. We are a technically skilled group, composed of excellent collaborators and led by experienced professionals. Together, we maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment across our global network of fulfillment centers.
Some team members take on leadership roles, guiding the team as they work with innovative technology – some of which is unique to Amazon.
From the installation of automated packaging systems to overseeing general site maintenance and repairing key distribution equipment, our team manages most aspects of Amazon's technical operations.
This includes ensuring that facilities comply with legal standards, guaranteeing safety, and maximizing operational efficiency. There are numerous opportunities for career advancement, both within the RME team and throughout Amazon.Our focus is on minimizing downtime in Amazon's essential operations, ensuring that customers receive their orders promptly. We often work during early or late hours to perform maintenance with minimal disruption, including night shifts.
If we identify a more efficient method for a task, we possess the skills and authority to develop and implement entirely new processes or cutting-edge technologies such as Amazon Robotics and our Complex Item Sorter.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- Completion of a full Engineering indentured apprenticeship and/or qualification to a minimum of NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a relevant Engineering discipline (City & Guilds Level 3, SVQ/IVQ)- Relevant experience as a qualified engineer
- Experience in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance
- Advanced proficiency in the local language, both verbally and in writing
