Job Title: Sales Estimator

Black Fox Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Sales Estimator to join their team in the bespoke metal fabrication industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review specifications, drawings, and project documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates for metal fabrication projects.
  • Produce detailed, competitive tenders and bid proposals, ensuring timely submissions.
  • Follow up on bids and client queries in a professional manner.
  • Generate consistent quotations and manage amendments based on pre-construction discussions or client interactions.
  • Perform detailed take-offs from drawings and consult with clients on project requirements.
  • Assist with value engineering by proposing alternative materials or methods where necessary.
  • Develop and implement a strategic sales plan to achieve targets.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including architects, contractors, and private clients.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring high customer satisfaction.
  • Manage a sales pipeline, ensuring follow-up and progression of opportunities.
  • Collaborate with marketing to enhance brand visibility and develop promotional material.
  • Track project performance metrics to improve estimation processes.
Required Experience & Skills:
  • Minimum 5 years experience in an Estimating role, preferably in Architectural Fabrications or Metalworks (Stairs, Handrails, Fabricated Components, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of materials, building regulations, and health & safety practices.
  • Proven ability to price projects based on drawings, specifications, and design/build information.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering drawings; CAD experience is a plus.
  • Strong numerical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of contractual procedures and responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software (Procore is advantageous).

  • Familiarity with modern fabrication processes, workshop practices, and on-site installation procedures.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to mentor and train team members.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and deliver results efficiently.
