We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled financial leader to join our team as a Director of Finance at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a broad financial portfolio and contribute to the success of our organization.
Main Responsibilities- Lead the development and implementation of financial strategies and plans to achieve the Trust's objectives.
- Provide financial guidance and support to the Trust's senior leadership team and other stakeholders.
- Oversee the management of the Trust's budget and financial resources, ensuring effective financial management and compliance with sound financial policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including NHS England, the Department of Health and Social Care, and other healthcare organizations.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the Trust's strategic plans, including the development of business cases and capacity plans.
- Provide leadership and direction to the Finance Directorate, ensuring that the team is equipped to deliver high-quality financial services and support to the Trust.
- Collaborate with other departments and teams to ensure that financial considerations are integrated into all aspects of the Trust's operations.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in financial regulations, policies, and procedures, and ensure that the Trust is compliant with all relevant requirements.
- Proven experience of operating at board/sub-board level in an NHS environment, ideally as a Chief Financial Officer or Deputy CFO in a large NHS Trust.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make informed decisions.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong understanding of NHS financial policies and procedures, including the NHS Financial Regulations and the NHS Accounting and Financial Management Code.
- Ability to stay up-to-date with changes in financial regulations, policies, and procedures, and ensure that the Trust is compliant with all relevant requirements.
