Job Title: Nuclear Programme Director

At AWE, we are embarking on a groundbreaking national endeavour to design and produce a replacement warhead for the UK's continuous at sea deterrent. As a Nuclear Programme Director, you will lead a multi-functional team to develop and deliver a complex systems engineering programme, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive delivery strategy for the programme, aligning with AWE's processes and governance requirements.
  • Lead and manage a team of professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities to ensure their success.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks, ensuring the programme's overall success.
  • Manage resources effectively, balancing people, budget, and time constraints to achieve programme objectives.
  • Direct the planning and execution of the programme, ensuring compliance with Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB) and Work Authorisation Document (WAD) requirements.
Requirements:
  • Education to degree level or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and engage teams.
  • Proven experience in programme management, with a strong background in complex systems engineering and qualification programmes.
  • Ability to develop solutions to complex problems, using ingenuity and creativity to drive results.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and manage across functions.
