Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Project Management Assistant to enhance our Asset Protection team.

Key Responsibilities:

This role is essential in assisting with the identification of risks associated with projects adjacent to railway operations. As a customer-facing position, you will facilitate the workflow into project management, engineering, and construction management teams, ensuring compliance with Network Rail's standards and relevant legislation.

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Collaborating within a project team to ensure timely, cost-effective, and quality project delivery while adhering to safety and environmental protocols.
  2. Tracking and reporting project progress in line with established reporting systems.
  3. Creating and integrating support systems to aid the Asset Protection team in managing changes effectively.
  4. Processing contractor possession and isolation applications, ensuring timely and complete submissions.
  5. Monitoring contractor performance metrics and generating periodic progress updates.
  6. Assisting the Project Management team in maintaining a safe working environment throughout project execution.
  7. Managing generic and site-specific working methods and providing risk assessments within agreed timelines.
  8. Ensuring HSQE risk assessments are conducted by contractors and monitoring compliance.
  9. Adhering to the Investment Competence Framework.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates should possess:

  • Experience in management, particularly in project management or PMO.
  • Educational qualifications equivalent to HND/HNC or similar.
  • Awareness of HSQE principles and issues.

Desirable Attributes:

While not mandatory, the following are advantageous:

  • Membership or progress towards membership in the Association for Project Management.
  • A degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Understanding of safety, quality, environmental, commercial, and financial aspects.
  • Familiarity with possession planning.
  • Experience with Oracle-based Customer Relationship Management tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including SharePoint and Power BI.
