SAGE Publishing is a leading international publisher of innovative, high-quality books and journals across a broad range of subject areas. Our team is responsible for developing interactive, online training courses that support the core activities of higher education institutions around the world.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Learning Content Developer to join our team. As a Learning Content Developer, you will be responsible for managing authors, providing training on our processes, writing author briefs, and offering feedback and guidance throughout the development process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage authors and provide training on our processes to ensure high-quality content development.
- Edit and develop draft content, ensuring alignment with course learning outcomes and vision.
- Recruit and assess feedback from expert and user reviewer panels to inform content development.
- Lead on the learning design content strategy, collaborating with authors and product managers to ensure alignment with our pedagogical framework.
- Contribute to development group workshops, including leading breakout groups and managing participation in content development phases.
- Oversee content development from initial drafts to final submission, ensuring effective pedagogical approach and content structure.
- Brief in-house developers and designers on course content builds and manage post-alpha revisions and beta corrections.
- Brief media assets to ensure they meet required standards, schedules, and budgets.
- Conduct QA checks on content and identify bugs before launch.
- Manage content-related costs in line with agreed budget.
Requirements:
- Strong content development skills, preferably in a higher education or academic e-learning context.
- Solid understanding of e-learning principles and pedagogical approaches.
- Excellent editing and proofreading skills, and basic knowledge of HTML.
- Experience in assessing review feedback to meet market needs.
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective author relationships.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong time management and prioritization skills.
- Knowledge of IP, copyright, and permissions clearance process.
