Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join our team at GLG Vets in Radlett, Hertfordshire. As a locum Veterinary Surgeon, you will be responsible for conducting consultations, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of conditions in small animals. You will also perform routine and emergency surgeries with confidence and expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct consultations, diagnose, and treat a wide range of conditions in small animals.
  • Perform routine and emergency surgeries with confidence and expertise.
  • Provide clear and compassionate communication to pet owners regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
  • Assist in the management of clinical operations, ensuring that all areas are well-maintained and properly equipped.
  • Support the reception team by answering phones, scheduling appointments, and assisting clients with inquiries when necessary.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, ensuring all clinical and administrative documentation is up-to-date.
  • Work collaboratively with the veterinary team to deliver high standards of care and service.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Veterinary Medicine with current registration with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS).
  • Strong experience in small animal practice, including surgery, diagnostics, and patient care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and team members.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and balance clinical duties with receptionist responsibilities as needed.
  • A compassionate and professional approach to veterinary care.
