Role Overview :

The Area Sales Manager is tasked with managing key Contractor Clients in the Southeast Region, fostering robust relationships with both current and prospective clients to maximize Schneider Electric's comprehensive range of products and services.

Your primary responsibility will be to meet all established objectives related to orders, sales, profitability, and strategic initiatives within your designated customer segment. Building a strong internal network will be essential for leveraging support within your client base.

You will cultivate deep connections with customers at all levels in the region, leading effective engagement with both clients and prospects. The focus will primarily be on Contractors and their preferred market routes, including Distributors and Panel Builders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Sales Strategy Development: Formulate a robust sales strategy for the region that drives growth within Named Accounts. Establish clear targets for both existing customer expansion and new customer acquisition, ensuring effective collaboration with channel and marketing teams to create a solid customer engagement plan.
  • Performance Metrics: Achieve or surpass all key performance indicators (KPIs) set forth, concentrating on orders, sales, margins, new customer acquisition, and opportunity win rates. Manage marketing development funds (MDF) and expenses effectively.
  • Relationship Management: Build, maintain, and enhance critical customer relationships across your account portfolio in all channels (Distribution, Panel Builders, Contractors), utilizing these connections to drive business growth.
  • Forecasting: Provide formal quarterly forecasts and monthly updates to the business, as well as informal forecasts as required by the Regional Director.
  • CRM Leadership: Champion the use of CRM systems, ensuring thorough documentation of all customer interactions and opportunity management. Cultivate a culture of CRM excellence.
  • Pipeline Oversight: Conduct comprehensive pipeline management for your area, maintaining a short-, medium-, and long-term perspective on projects. Ensure alignment of sales efforts with Schneider Electric's offerings.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in high-performing sales roles and teams.
  • Exceptional influencing and persuasion abilities.
  • Strong negotiation capabilities.
  • Highly organized with effective planning skills.
  • Solid business acumen and awareness of macroeconomic trends.
  • In-depth knowledge of Electrical Distribution Products.
Educational Background:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or equivalent professional experience.
  • Formal sales training.
  • Electrical Engineering qualification or relevant experience.
