MRC Postdoctoral Research Scientist in Molecular Mechanisms of Disease

We are seeking a talented postdoctoral scientist with a background in molecular biology to join our team at the MRC Laboratory of Medical Sciences. Our group works at the intersection of medical genetics, bioinformatics, and molecular biology to explore the mechanisms underlying human diseases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct cutting-edge research in molecular mechanisms of disease using CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing and synthetic genomics.
  • Model disease-causing chromosomal structural variants (SVs) and study their functional consequences.
  • Collaborate with a team of scientists and clinicians to advance the understanding of biology and its application to medicine.

Requirements:

  • PhD in molecular biology or a related field.
  • Experience with CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing and synthetic genomics.
  • Strong background in molecular biology and genetics.
