Cost Estimator – Pertemps TM
An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Cost Estimator to join a regional construction firm on a permanent basis. This company engages in a variety of sectors including educational facilities, healthcare projects, recreational venues, and commercial developments. You will be tasked with the preparation and submission of bids under various procurement methods. As a Cost Estimator with this regional firm, you will oversee the financial resources of the assigned project to optimize cash flow.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide support to the project team with commercial and contractual insights
  • Evaluate, review, and mitigate financial and contractual risks
  • Implement strategies for effective risk management
  • Prepare and present monthly financial reports
  • Assess work completed by subcontractors
  • Authorize interim and final payments
  • Prepare invitations for subcontractor bids and assess tender submissions
  • Ensure timely preparation and resolution of final accounts, including variations, claims, and disputes
  • Monitor and manage project expenditures, including variations, change orders, and progress payments to ensure financial accuracy and control
Required Skills:
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Strong analytical and numerical abilities, with a knack for precise calculations and cost evaluations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with quantity surveying software
  • Valid driving license
