Position Purpose:
The primary responsibility of the Waste Management Technician is to support the daily operations of the facility concerning the receipt, treatment, and disposal of clinical waste. This role aims to maximize plant efficiency and productivity while adhering to operational protocols and regulatory requirements.
Key Job Activities:
- Unload vehicles and trailers as per site specifications.
- Effectively maneuver waste within the facility and accurately weigh containers.
- Ensure waste containers are emptied, thoroughly cleaned, and stored in a designated 'empty' area for collection.
- Coordinate documentation and reception of all deliveries, including those from suppliers and contractors.
- Oversee the safe handling of loose waste delivered to the site by the respective deliverer.
- Operate fork lift trucks as necessary.
- Participate in scheduled plant shutdowns as required.
- Maintain operational records and data pertinent to the role.
- Report any significant defects, concerns, or issues regarding equipment or facilities to management.
- Assist the Shift Supervisor and Plant Manager during breakdowns or controlled stoppages.
- Adhere to all safety notices and ensure that all tasks are performed safely and correctly.
- Attend training sessions or instructions specific to the role as needed.
- Perform additional duties as necessary to ensure compliance and continuity of plant operations.
- Follow company health and safety protocols.
