Job Title: Unix Administrator

Job Summary:

Vallum Associates Limited is seeking a highly skilled Unix Administrator to join our team. As a Unix Administrator, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support for our Unix infrastructure, ensuring the smooth operation of our systems and applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical guidance and support for Unix infrastructure, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Develop and implement scripts and automation tools to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Unix technologies and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and knowledge base.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and provide 24/7 support for critical systems.
  • Work with development teams to ensure smooth deployment of new applications and services.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency and productivity.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in Unix administration.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Unix (AIX, Solaris, Linux).
  • Strong understanding of SAN configuration and host-based SAN migrations.
  • Ability to develop complex shell scripts and automation tools.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • ITIL awareness and certification a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the finance and banking industry.
  • Full-stack engineering skills, including Kubernetes, Docker, and Groovy.
  • Familiarity with Google and Amazon Cloud Services.
  • Knowledge of Python, Perl, and C programming languages.
