Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) Job Opportunity

Sanctuary Personnel Ltd, a leading recruitment agency, is seeking a highly skilled Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) to join our team in Slough. As an IRO, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of safe and high-quality services to children and young people who require a multi-agency Child Protection (CP) response.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Chair CP Conferences and Reviews: Lead complex meetings, including CP conferences, Looked After Children reviews, and strategy meetings, in accordance with government guidance and local procedures.
  • Ensure Child Participation: Ensure children and young people participate appropriately in meetings, and their wishes and feelings are considered and weighted alongside the views of parents, carers, and professionals.
  • Develop Effective Plans: Ensure all children reviewed have an effective Looked After Childcare Plan or Child Protection Plan, clarifying objectives, responsibilities, and actions.
  • Implement Quality Standards: Monitor and implement agreed quality standards, performance indicators, and outcomes, ensuring they meet local and national targets.
  • Support Staff: Offer support and advice to staff involved in Looked After Children/Child Protection work, recording consultations and feeding them into the line management process.
  • Contribute to Service Planning: Contribute to service planning and promotion, reviewing the service to meet changing priorities in line with the Government and local agenda.
Requirements:
  • A professional Social Work qualification or equivalent.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Registered or eligible for registration.
