About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced and skilled Team Manager to lead our Mid Essex Adoption Team. As a Team Manager, you will be responsible for managing the assessment and support of prospective adopters, managing the family finding of children with a plan for adoption, and managing the support available to children placed for adoption prior to the Adoption Order being made.
You will also be responsible for promoting and complying with Safeguarding procedures, recording details of assessments on the system, and collating cohort and trend data, monitoring outcomes and responding to data requests.
About the TeamThe Mid Essex Adoption Team is a highly motivated and innovative team that is committed to securing the best outcomes for children. We work closely with Adopt East Alliance member agencies to promote good practice across the region.

RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- Registration with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Registered Social Worker.
- Experience of leading a team in a Social Care environment.
- Experience of working within Children and Family Services with experience in adoption work.
- Open to change and ready to innovate, you will be keen to join an environment where you can stretch yourself professionally, make an impact individually, and deliver positive outcomes collaboratively.
- Court experience is preferable.
- Analytical report writing skills are essential.
- Understanding of the impact of neglect/abuse on children and trauma in children is important.
- Flexible working is required with occasional out of county work.
