Job Title: Manufacturing Engineering Manager

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead our PCA operations team. As a key member of our Edwards Vacuum, LLC team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth transition of new products from design to manufacture, while maintaining high quality, on-time delivery, and cost-effectiveness.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Provide manufacturing engineering expertise to the team, promoting Design for Manufacturing techniques for next-generation products.
  2. Liaise with other departments to gain a comprehensive understanding of product requirements and represent Manufacturing Engineering interests.
  3. Ensure procedures are updated and training material is produced prior to final rollout of proposed changes.
  4. Enter and maintain BOM and routings with agreed assembly times on the SAP system.
  5. Be accountable for delivery on KPIs with activities completed to agreed plan and Financial KPIs relating to meeting approved spend (CEPs) on assigned projects.
  6. Benchmark industry standards in printed circuit assembly and ensure the production facility adopts a state of continuous improvements regarding processes and machines.
  7. Manage Engineering change through the PCA zone.
  8. Organize prototype builds and pre-production batches of all NPI projects.
  9. Participate in all relevant Project meetings. Represent Manufacturing Engineering interests at all DFMEAs and lead PFMEAs, ensuring good engineering practices are adopted in all cases.
  10. Support the adoption of new parts, including coordinating the Sample Approval Process for new parts, assigning and creating the SAP Material Master, agreeing logistics supply chain, and handover to procurement.
Requirements:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical and/or Electronics Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering or a related engineering discipline or demonstrable experience.
  2. At least 3 years' experience supporting PCA operations and 3 years involvement in an NPI role with design for manufacturing responsibility for electronic products.
  3. Full understanding of PFMEA and DFMEA considerations within an electronics assembly environment.
  4. Excellent understanding of Lean Manufacturing Techniques.
  5. Flexibility to run multiple projects in a small company environment.
  6. Competent in use of Microsoft Office.
