About Us:
We are a specialized SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) institution committed to supporting students with diverse needs. Our mission is to create a nurturing and inclusive atmosphere where every student is empowered to achieve their fullest potential. We recognize that a strong collaboration between home and school is vital for our students' success, and our Family Support Worker plays an essential role in fostering these connections.
The Role:
As a Family Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing guidance and support to families, helping them to overcome obstacles that may affect their child's educational journey and overall well-being.
- Establishing strong, trusting relationships with families, serving as a primary liaison between home and school.
- Assisting families in accessing local resources and services, including mental health support, financial aid, and community initiatives.
- Collaborating with educators, SEN specialists, and external organizations to develop a comprehensive support plan for each student.
- Creating and facilitating workshops aimed at enhancing parenting skills, emotional health, and family relationships.
- Offering individualized support for students and parents, addressing specific challenges and working towards effective resolutions.
What We Seek:
- Experience in family support, particularly in an advisory capacity, preferably within an educational or SEMH context.
- A caring, non-judgmental demeanor, coupled with exceptional listening and communication abilities.
- A solid understanding of the difficulties faced by families with children who have SEMH requirements.
- The capability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating a proactive and solution-oriented approach.
- Relevant qualifications in social work, family support, or a related discipline, or a willingness to pursue further training.
If you are ready to embrace this meaningful and fulfilling role, we encourage you to reach out to us. A member of our team will be in contact with you shortly.
