Automotive Control Systems Software Engineer

Position Overview:

Multimatic Inc. is a leading global automotive firm dedicated to providing innovative hardware and engineering solutions to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) worldwide. Our division focuses on meeting the increasing demands of our automotive clients in the realm of electronic hardware and software control. By integrating our cutting-edge products with our established expertise in vehicle dynamics, suspension systems, and mechatronics, we aim to deliver comprehensive solutions, including active suspension and powered door systems.

We are currently in search of a Automotive Control Systems Software Engineer to enhance our engineering team. This role involves the development of software for a new series of automotive electronic control units. The successful candidate will collaborate with a skilled team operating across multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and maintain software for automotive control systems, including suspension and active aero technologies.
  • Create and sustain library components to facilitate the reuse of intellectual property across various products.
  • Participate in requirements gathering and architectural design processes.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of control algorithms and software functionalities.
  • Conduct testing of software solutions for assigned projects, including PIL, SIL, and MIL testing.
  • Collaborate within an agile team environment, promoting flexibility and self-management.
  • Ensure adherence to established processes while identifying opportunities for improvement.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Software Engineering, Control Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Applied Physics.
  • Proven experience in embedded software development.
  • Familiarity with AutoSAR and Embedded Linux.
  • Proficient in Matlab, Simulink, and Stateflow.
  • Understanding of autocode generation processes.
  • Experience with MIL and SIL testing methodologies.
  • Knowledge of floating-point and fixed-point arithmetic.
  • Background in developing control algorithms and software architectures with vehicle testing experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with testing tools for unit, SIL, and HIL testing.
  • Skills in writing and reviewing software requirements.
  • Understanding of power electronics and motor control systems.
  • Familiarity with ISO 26262 and ASIL risk classification.
  • Practical mechanical experience and understanding of vehicle systems is advantageous.
