Job SummaryThe Last Mile Development Manager is responsible for delivering the Octopus Renewables development pipeline to the start of construction. They will oversee the planning condition discharge, grid liaison, and contracting processes to ensure that the projects are commercially viable.
Key Responsibilities- Directly manage individual projects through the last mile development phase.
- Control the risk management process and programme delivery.
- Set the contracting strategy for projects and tender and negotiate all supply, EPC, and O&M contracts in accordance with Octopus Renewables requirements.
- Work closely with development partners to ensure the quality of the projects within the pipeline and support in optimisations.
- Assess the quality/skill sets/risk appetite and judgement of our development partners.
- Improve the success rates and timelines for projects reaching the start of construction.
- Cultivate strong and productive relationships with developers, funds, and other stakeholders to facilitate the successful delivery of objectives.
- Extensive experience in developing renewable energy projects with a particular emphasis on the later stages of development.
- Strong project management and technical background.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills, adept at engaging and influencing a diverse stakeholder group.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, or related fields.
- Senior management experience in the renewable energy or related sectors.
- Proficient in project management, and data and reporting.
- Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills.
