Job Summary:

The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a registered staff member or dental nurse, undertaking defined responsibilities in a variety of clinics within the specialty. You will be responsible for ensuring safe, compassionate, and competent care is delivered to our patients and service users at all times.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Work under delegation and supervision of a registered staff member or dental nurse
  • Undertake defined responsibilities in a variety of clinics within the specialty
  • Ensure safe, compassionate, and competent care is delivered to patients and service users
  • Comply with Trust policies, protocols, and guidelines
  • Support patients and service users in achieving their goals and improving their health and wellbeing
Requirements:
  • English and Maths qualification at GCSE grades A*- E, or Functional Skills Level 1
  • NVQ Level 2/3 in a Health Related area or equivalent experience
  • Successful completion of the Care Certificate
  • Knowledge of Oral Maxillofacial & Orthodontics
  • ECDL qualification or equivalent
  • Ability to work in a demanding and busy environment
  • Understanding of the role of the Healthcare Support Worker
  • Ability to manage time effectively
  • Ability to work effectively on an individual basis and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Good customer care skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to engage in effective working relationships with patients, their relatives, and colleagues
  • Knowledge of confidentiality, infection prevention, and dignity in care within the workplace
  • Ability to prioritise and manage daily workload
  • Awareness and knowledge of the dignity in care agenda
  • Ability to recognise own limitations
  • Ability to evidence/demonstrate key values and behaviours in line with the Trust framework
  • Working knowledge of Health and Safety, Infection Prevention, and Manual Handling
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
  • Experience of working in a customer-focused environment
  • Experience of using computer systems for data entry and retrieval
  • Previous experience of working in a health/care setting
