Key Responsibilities

You will be expected to showcase and enhance your extensive knowledge and expertise in a variety of complex electrical engineering and maintenance tasks, optimizing resource utilization and maximizing power plant availability. A strong sense of individual responsibility and autonomy, coupled with a commitment to health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) standards, is essential.
Core Activities
- Leverage your expertise to lead and execute projects and outages, managing stakeholders across Uniper's functional framework and supply chain, while ensuring adherence to processes and regulatory compliance with the highest standards of HSSE and quality performance.
- Engage in both proactive and reactive tasks, including troubleshooting, problem resolution, and investigations across a wide range of process plants and systems, supporting performance against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as safety, time, cost, quality, technical performance, and compliance.
- Demonstrate proven capabilities in leading project teams effectively.
- Ensure best practices are employed and disseminated across Uniper sites by networking and benchmarking with plants, departments, engineers, industries, and Uniper teams to achieve optimal performance, revenue, and capital expenditure.
- Define scopes of work and develop both technical and contractual specifications.
- Your meticulous attention to detail will guarantee the establishment and delivery of contractor quality assurance and quality control.
- Actively promote a culture of health, safety, environmental awareness, and quality; seek improvements in these areas and contribute directly to their development, planning, and execution for Asset Support and Uniper.
Your Profile
Essential Qualifications
- A Higher National Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, complemented by substantial technical knowledge of engineering, project management, and maintenance practices acquired through experience.
- Ability to apply a solid understanding of health, safety, and environmental legislation and standards, equivalent to NEBOSH Certificate level, in a practical context.
- Experience in power generation or equivalent electrical engineering, including generators, motors, transformers, switchgear, and high-voltage distribution systems, enabling effective risk management of systems and equipment.
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster effective working relationships within the team, across business functions, and with senior stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills to facilitate effective task prioritization and resource management.
- In-depth knowledge and practical application of project management tools and techniques, with the ability to challenge appropriately to ensure projects are well-defined and aligned with business value.
- Strong organizational, contract, and project management skills to oversee multiple contracts within a project, addressing health, safety, environmental, quality, commercial, and technical considerations.
- A full and clean UK driving license.
Desirable Qualifications
- Familiarity with best practice lean tools for resolving engineering issues to root cause.
- APMP or Prince 2 project management certification.
- Proficiency in SAP-based systems.
- Experience in a fast-paced work environment.
- A solid understanding of power plant operations, along with knowledge of current regulations and policies affecting the management and operation of power generation assets.
