Job Title: Learning Support Professional

Job Type: Full-time and Part-time

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Learning Support Professional to join our team at Prospero Teaching. As a Learning Support Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with varied Special Educational Needs (SEN) and challenging behavior in one of our excellent Primary Schools in Ashington.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with challenging behavior and SEN on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
  • Manage challenging behavior in a positive, proactive, and consistent manner.
  • Build positive relationships with Class Teachers to support pupils and discuss/implement strategies and learning activities.
  • Prepare resources for lessons.
  • Supervise pupils at break times and lunch times as required.
  • Have a 'hands on' approach to supporting pupils in their learning, with a willingness to interact, engage, and form a positive rapport with pupils.

Requirements:

  • An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you).
  • A recognised Childcare-based qualification, although this is not essential.
  • An ability to build positive relationships and a rapport with pupils and staff.
  • A resilient, proactive, and positive nature.
  • Experience in classrooms supporting students, although this is not essential.
  • High levels of enthusiasm, energy, and positivity when working with pupils.
  • A genuine passion for helping young people to fulfill their potential and flourish in education.
  • An enthusiastic approach and a willingness to engage with and form positive relationships with pupils.
