Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer to join our team. As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems, working closely with customers and internal stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop mechanical systems using CAD programmes, ensuring high-quality and cost-effective solutions.
  • Compile parts lists and maintain drawing records, adhering to strict technical office procedures.
  • Offer creative thinking within cost and time constraints, providing practical and cost-effective solutions to design change and modification.
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines and delivering high-quality results.
  • Visit customers' sites to gain engineering information and provide technical support.
  • Liaise with customers to ensure adequate flow of information for orders, service requirements, and other issues.
  • Provide technical support to customers and internal sales/service departments via telephone, fax, email, and hands-on support.
Requirements:
  • Mechanical Engineering degree (BEng or MEng in Mechanical Engineering).
  • Experience with design software (e.g. 2D: AutoCAD, 3D: Inventor, Solid Works, Catia or equivalent).
  • 8-10 years of experience in a design role in an industrial environment.
  • Recent experience of design engineering work (not just reverse engineering or project management).
  • Machinery design experience (e.g. conveyor systems, bearing, linkages, mechanisms, packaging machinery or other 3-phase machinery).
  • Ability to provide practical, creative, and cost-effective solutions to design change/modification.
  • Ability to multi-task with simultaneous projects, meeting tight cost and time restraints.
  • Clear, fluent English (written and verbal) and ability to travel worldwide.
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience with Autodesk Vault v2015 onwards.
  • Relevant design experience with sheet metal work/electro/mechanical machinery/special purpose machinery for mechanical handling processes.
  • Interest in mechanical/engineering hobbies (e.g. building models, vehicle maintenance, serious home improvements).
  • Foreign language ability.
