Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Network Engineer Apprentice to join our team at L&G Recruitment. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for assisting in the design, implementation, and maintenance of our network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning, installation, and configuration of network devices and equipment.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot network issues to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with the team to identify and implement network security measures.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of network architecture and configurations.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in network engineering.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Solid understanding of network operating systems (Cisco IOS, Wireless, SilverPeak, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of network hardware (Cisco Wired and Wireless devices, SilverPeak, OpenGear).
  • Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS).
  • Familiarity with access control models and network security.
  • Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Cacti).
  • CCNP or higher (Cisco Certified Network Professional) certification is a must.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing and virtualization technologies (AWS, Azure, VMware).
