About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal Counsel to join our team at HS2 Ltd. As a key member of our legal team, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality legal advice and support to our business.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing legal advice and guidance on commercial and contracts law, including procurement and negotiation of high-value construction agreements.
  • Assisting with the provision of statutory advice and supporting the resolution of contractual claims and disputes.
  • Managing the provision of external legal support, including budgeting and quality control.
  • Contributing to the preparation and drafting of reports and briefings for senior management.
  • Actively promoting and embedding Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all your work.
About You

We are looking for a qualified solicitor or barrister with 2-4 years of post-qualification experience, gained in private practice or in-house. You will have experience in commercial law, procurement law, and construction law, and be able to distil complex legal issues into easily understood advice.

You will be able to work closely with clients, prepare legal drafting with minimal supervision, and build and maintain effective working relationships. You will also have initiative and problem-solving skills, and be willing to work in a multidisciplinary team to achieve a mutually desired outcome.
