Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Production Shift Operator to join our team at HARIBO. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production processes, maintaining high standards of quality and safety, and contributing to the overall success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out scheduled caustic cleans to maintain production quality standards.
  • Operate pedestrian/ride-on scrubbers to clean all floors in the production department.
  • Empty all bins in the production department.
  • Ensure all tasks are completed in line with HARIBO's Safe Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Control waste streams to ensure compliance.
  • Apply Continuous Improvement (CI) methodology to enhance processes.
  • Identify and report any issues to supervision as necessary.
  • Deliver required production plans for allocated machines.
  • Liaise with colleagues to ensure smooth operations throughout the department.
  • Prepare and deliver effective handovers to incoming shifts.
  • Maintain and promote good levels of housekeeping, personal hygiene, and cleanliness through regular inspections.
  • Understand and comply with Environmental Management System (EMS) and Environmental Permit requirements affecting this role.
  • Be aware of all relevant company standards/systems impacting this role.
  • Regularly check that standards are being met.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience operating machines is preferred but not essential.
  • Understanding of COSHH principles.
  • Awareness of Health & Safety and Food Hygiene standards.
  • Good level of verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
