We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research and Development Specialist to join our dynamic R&D team at Victrex.
The successful candidate will be responsible for organizing and performing experiments and analyses that support key technology projects and contribute directly to innovation and growth.
The role will involve:
- Assisting in planning and performing experiments at laboratory, pilot, and production scales.
- Analyzing and collating data using a range of in-house and external analytical services to evaluate material properties.
- Interpreting, summarizing, and communicating data through written reports and verbal presentations, making basic recommendations on future work direction.
- Implementing laboratory experimental procedures and maintaining safe working practices in line with all relevant internal and external regulations.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of work procedures and instructions.
- Monitoring, defining, and maintaining SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) standards for specific equipment and/or laboratory areas.
- Supporting the safe and effective operation of the PIC semi-technical plant asset.
- Occasional supervision of placement students or apprentices.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Demonstrable working knowledge of a range of analytical techniques and materials application know-how.
- Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and team-working skills.
- High proficiency in IT and related software tools.
Essential qualifications include a Level 3 Apprenticeship/HND or equivalent in a relevant scientific or technical discipline with relevant industrial experience.
