Are you a seasoned Procurement Specialist with a commitment to enhancing value through cost savings and optimizing supply chain operations? LHH Recruitment is collaborating with a prominent entity in the transportation sector, looking for a proficient Procurement Specialist to become part of their team.

In the role of Procurement Specialist, you will be instrumental in propelling the organization forward and modernizing the railway infrastructure in the UK.

  • Oversee the complete tendering process for designated projects, ensuring adherence to relevant regulations and procurement standards.
  • Engage with internal teams to formulate future tender strategies and refine specifications and performance metrics.
  • Recommend suitable terms and conditions for procurement needs.
  • Facilitate cross-departmental tendering, contract discussions, and supply chain management efforts.
  • Address project risks associated with safety, data protection, and compliance through meticulous contract formulation.
  • Keep the Procurement Information Manager informed about project developments and contract conditions.
  • Effectively liaise with stakeholders throughout the procurement lifecycle.
  • Provide insights on procurement protocols, processes, and governance to meet project goals.
  • Collaborate with Finance Business Partners to establish project budgets and approvals for new contracts.

To be considered, candidates should possess:

  • Membership in the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS) or an equivalent relevant qualification.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in procurement, commercial, or contract management within an Indirect/IT context.
  • Familiarity with contract legislation, data protection regulations, and procurement standards.
  • Experience with Government Frameworks and Dynamic Purchasing Systems.
  • Proficiency in procure-to-pay systems and methodologies.
  • Some background in post-contract management.
  • Strong skills in market engagement and supply chain strategy.
