About the Role:

Meridian Business Support is seeking an experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our team. As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in the pricing and cost management of various projects from initial inquiry to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Estimate new inquiries and provide accurate costings
  • Manage ongoing costs of live projects through to completion
  • Produce and send inquiries to subcontractors, engaging with the supply chain
  • Produce bills of quantity/activity schedules for payment purposes
  • Monitor and control income and expenditure on contracts
  • Attend and contribute to financial and progress meetings with clients and subcontractors
  • Provide advice and support to site teams and colleagues

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Negotiation skills and ability to apply those skills internally and externally
  • Previous experience in the construction industry, ideally in refurbishment and extension in the Education sector
  • Willingness to work on your own initiative and progress your career
  • HND/Degree in Quantity Surveying
  • CSCS card
