Project Engineer Job Description

Andy File Associates Limited is working as a Recruitment Agency on behalf of our client with regards this permanent position.

Salary: Between £30,000 and £38,000 (Plus bonus)

This role will provide technical delivery and governance to a wide scope of projects for customers within a project lifecycle to ensure effective and efficient delivery of strategic goals through bespoke solutions based upon their clients' requirements. The successful candidate will be accountable for planning and overseeing projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budget.

The Project Engineer will work closely with the Service Desk Manager and Strategic Account Managers to keep them appraised of all live projects. They will be responsible for ensuring projects are smoothly transitioned to the Service Desk for ongoing support.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure excellent customer experience through effective delivery of projects to the agreed cost, time, scope, quality, and security constraints.
  2. Provide regular, accurate and timely client reporting to meet and exceed customer expectations.
  3. Deliver technical projects, utilising Project Support Engineers where required in order to further their skills.
  4. Establish regular, clear, and consistent channels of communication at all levels within the organisation.
  5. Responsibility for driving continuous improvement of project management processes and practices.
  6. Identify smarter ways of working for both them and their clients to improve efficiency.
  7. Proactively manage customer relationships to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction.
  8. Provide monthly project pipeline/utilisation data to support effective business decisions.
Requirements:
  1. Previous experience as a project engineer essential.
  2. Good knowledge of Windows Server, Virtual environments including VMWare, SQL Server, entire Microsoft stack, Networking LAN, WAN, VPN and Wireless, Active Directory, Antivirus.
  3. Microsoft Azure IaaS.
  4. Excellent communication skills essential.
  5. Ability to manage a diverse workload and work calmly under pressure with an organised and methodical approach to tasks.
  6. Relevant experience of working in an IT setting.
  7. Exceptional team working skills.
  8. A recognised qualification in project/programme management such as Prince 2 or APM is desirable but not essential.
  9. The ability and desire to develop the role and make it your own.
  10. Committed to achieving the AAG vision.
The Role:
  1. The role can be worked in a hybrid capacity with visits to clients.
  2. A UK Driving Licence is required.
  3. A company car or pool car may be provided depending on mileage covered within the role but unconfirmed right now.
