About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team at Tractebel Engineering S.p.A. as a Civil Engineer Designer. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and constructing the Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C nuclear power plants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyse input data from clients and investigate previous calculations to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Perform structural calculations using Ansys software and prepare or update associated reports.
  • Collaborate with local teams to respond to civil works contractor queries, analyse Request For Information (RFI), Field Change Requests (FCR), and Non-Conformance Reports (NCR).
  • Provide quick assessments on reinforcement concrete issues and perform or adapt Ansys Finite Element Models (FEM) in response to FCR and NCR.
Requirements
  • MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Working towards either the ICE or the IStructE.
  • Experience in the use of Ansys or equivalent structural FEM software.
  • Experience in reinforced concrete calculation and design.
  • Experience in nuclear or complex industrial projects.
  • Working familiarity with relevant technical Codes of Practice and industry Standards (ETC-C, Eurocodes and British Standard).
  • Proficient in using MS Office Suite, Excel, and Word.
  • Programming skills in one or several languages are a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proactive individual who can work collaboratively within a multicultural team.
  • Agile and self-motivated towards improving personal performance and able to generate innovative outcomes to challenges.
  • Ability to work to deadlines.
