Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Buying Assistant to join our client's buying team in South Manchester. As a Buying Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Buyer and wider team to achieve sales, stock, and margin targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build Relationships

Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, buying, merchandising, and quality control teams to ensure seamless product development and delivery.

Collaborate with Creative and Ecommerce Teams

Work closely with the creative and ecommerce teams to ensure productive relationships and effective product development.

Assist the Buyer

Support the Buyer in adapting styles relevant to the ladieswear area, including product development and price negotiation.

Lead Critical Path Meetings

Lead critical path meetings within the team, presenting to the Buyer and Buying Manager, and highlighting potential issues.

Analysis and Trade Reactions

Analyze sales and performance data for direct and retail channels to enable trade reactions to be implemented where required.

Administration and Organization

Perform all day-to-day administration tasks to assist the Buyer and ensure efficient buying of product.

Commercial Awareness

Stay up-to-date with competitors' seasonal product and price changes to ensure the company remains competitive.

Requirements

  • Experience in Buying Function

Proven experience in a buying function, preferably in the fashion industry.

Knowledge of Fashion Trends

Natural ability to identify future fashion trends and a real passion for product.

Market Knowledge

In-depth knowledge of the current market and ability to analyze sales and performance data.
