About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Technical Lead to join our team at Jacobs, a leading provider of technical, professional, and construction services. As a Diesel Technical Lead, you will play a critical role in delivering client-critical works on major UK and European projects, including the Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C nuclear power stations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Contract Engineering Lead in resolving technical issues related to design, manufacturing, and qualification.
  • Surveillance of design documentation to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Assist with the management and tracking of design risks, preparation of early warning and variations.
  • Interface with stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of the contract.
  • Support the development of action plans and preparation of governance meetings.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related engineering field (Mechanical, Electrical, Process, etc.).
  • Knowledge and experience with diesel generators, instrumentation, filters, piping, rotating equipment, heat-exchangers, and pressure equipment.
  • Project Management/Project Engineering experience, ideally with a recognized accreditation.
  • Experience in nuclear or highly-regulated industries (aerospace, oil & gas, energy, public sector works).
  • Knowledge of UK regulatory requirements (CDM, COSHH, IRR, Environmental Permitting, etc.).
  • Experience with British/ISO standards and other design codes.
