Position Overview

Senior IT Systems Engineer, Infrastructure, 3rd Line, VMWARE, Windows Server, Azure, Fully Remote

Salary: £42,000

Work Arrangement: Fully remote (with minimal travel required)

We are seeking a talented IT Systems Engineer to support a prominent healthcare organization. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in delivering efficient and cost-effective IT systems and cloud services to all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and maintain server hardware and infrastructure to ensure optimal performance.
  • Manage and support Windows Server environments effectively.
  • Administer and configure Active Directory services.
  • Utilize virtualization technologies to enhance server and application efficiency.
  • Ensure secure and efficient data storage through effective management of storage technologies.
  • Implement and manage Azure cloud services, including both public and private environments.
  • Oversee data center operations to maintain reliability and performance.
  • Develop and execute robust backup strategies to protect data integrity.
  • Manage network technologies to ensure secure and reliable connectivity.

Essential Duties

  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting for all server and system infrastructure.
  • Conduct regular system upgrades and maintenance tasks.
  • Develop and maintain IT systems policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Resolve system-related incidents and issues promptly.
  • Provide high-level support for the organization’s central infrastructure and critical business systems.
  • Assist in the implementation of significant server, system, and cloud-based projects.
  • Ensure the achievement of established goals for server infrastructure.
  • Engage in escalations within the IT Service Delivery team as necessary.
  • Ensure adherence to IT Service Management processes within the IT Infrastructure and Service Delivery teams.
  • Evaluate and propose innovative system technologies that align with business and technology strategic goals.
