**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Project Manager to join our Project Delivery Directorate at Cambridgeshire County Council. As a key member of our project management team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the effective delivery of multiple projects of varying complexity and priority.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Support the project management team in the delivery of projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of project plans, including risk management, cost control, and quality assurance.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including project sponsors, team members, and external partners, to ensure effective communication and project progress.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative solutions to project challenges, working closely with the project manager and other team members.
  • Support the project manager in the preparation of project reports, including progress updates, risk assessments, and lessons learned.

**Requirements**

  • Proven experience in project management or a related field, with a strong understanding of project delivery principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate project risks.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to work and a willingness to adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Knowledge of project management tools and techniques, including risk management, cost control, and quality assurance.
