This specialized ward accommodates 19 patients and focuses on a variety of surgical fields, including spinal injections, minor orthopaedic procedures, ophthalmic care, ENT, vascular surgery, minor urology, gynecology, and cosmetic surgery.

Our ideal candidate will possess relevant experience in a comparable environment and be knowledgeable about contemporary practices. You should be comfortable working in a dynamic ward alongside a diverse and professional team. This position provides the chance to be part of a vibrant team with excellent staff-to-patient ratios.

Located in the beautiful area of St John's Wood, our esteemed private hospital is renowned for delivering exceptional patient care. Importantly, all profits generated by the hospital are directed towards supporting our onsite Hospice.

Your Key Responsibilities as the Lead Surgical Nurse:

  • Uphold patient confidentiality regarding admissions and treatments.
  • Ensure precise and timely documentation in accordance with approved formats.
  • Comply with ward and hospital policies as well as professional standards.
  • Serve as a clinical authority in your specialty.
  • Provide evidence-based nursing care to patients.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care with accuracy.
  • Create a nurturing and safe environment for patients and their families.
  • Effectively convey complex information to patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Initiate discharge planning from the moment of admission.
  • Continuously enhance clinical skills and knowledge.

Qualifications for the Lead Surgical Nurse Role:

  • Current NMC registration.
  • A minimum of 2 years of post-registration experience in one of the ward's specialties.
  • Experience in managing shifts and leading teams.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and training.
  • Strong post-registration competencies.
  • Excellent clinical and communication abilities.
  • Professionalism and self-awareness.
