Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Trade Operative to join our team at CRA GROUP LIMITED. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for completing a range of repair and maintenance works for tenanted and void properties to a professional standard and highly productive level.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out a range of specified works both as an individual craft professional or as a member of a multiskilled team refurbishing properties.
  • Undertake inspection activities as directed by Supervisor/Management and when required by management to assist in emergency call outs.
  • Work should be undertaken using innovative and output-focused solutions assessing risk and benefits to establish solutions.
  • Work in a range of properties throughout the borough, including occupied tenancies and offices, and unoccupied buildings, completing specified works to a high standard of excellence.
  • Deliver a consistent standard of excellence in terms of repair and maintenance work.
Requirements
  • Knowledge and skilled in delivering repairs and maintenance in main trade and skilled and proficient in associated trade skills to enable a high standard of resident satisfaction.
  • Experience of using handheld PDA devices for the recording of work flows.
  • Demonstrable experience of working in the building and trades industry delivering repairs and maintenance works in a multi-skilled approach to social housing.
  • Experience of working within diverse communities of all abilities.
  • Experience of working independently making decisions required for the completion of jobs.
  • Experience of working with teams.
  • Understanding of the concept of Value for Money and right-first-time working.
  • Working knowledge of current building regulations, construction industry safety regulations, relevant British standards, and codes of practice.
  • Ability to diagnose and report larger repairs.
  • Good H&S knowledge and ability to report issues.
Essential Qualifications
  • Full driving license.
  • Qualified to HNC or completed a recognised craft apprenticeship NVQ/City and Guilds or equivalent.
