The OpportunityWe are seeking a skilled Legal Consultant to join our dedicated team, supporting the negotiation of contracts on behalf of our clients. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with leading industry practitioners, senior lawyers, and experienced colleagues to deliver exceptional results.
This is a client-facing role that offers a wide range of opportunities for growth and development. You will be exposed to a diverse range of financial institutions and entrusted with significant responsibility from the outset. Responsibilities- Manage your workload effectively, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Liaise with clients and counterparties to draft, negotiate, amend, and execute commercial contracts, including ISDA agreements, CSAs, GMSLAs, GMRAs, NDAs, and Terms of Business.
- Manage and update negotiation databases, tracking external communications and ensuring timely escalations within the team.
- Provide information and reporting to internal stakeholders and clients, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
- Participate in conference calls and meetings with clients, counterparties, and internal teams, fostering strong relationships and effective communication.
- Stay up-to-date with legal and regulatory developments in derivatives law and practice, utilizing industry events, company training programs, and online resources.
- A minimum of a 2:1 Undergraduate degree in Law or an equivalent degree. A legal conversion qualification is desirable for those with non-law degrees.
- A strong interest in developing a career in law, with a focus on commercial contracts and derivatives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and clients.
- Close attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and effective time management.
- A creative problem-solving approach, with the ability to think critically and develop innovative solutions.
