Electrical Technician Job Description

SAUR UK is seeking a skilled Electrical Technician to join our team in Glasgow. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for executing planned and corrective electrical maintenance tasks to ensure the reliable operation of our plant equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement scheduled planned maintenance tasks using our computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Identify and report abnormal equipment behavior or critical process situations.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of industrial electrical equipment, including PLCs, electrical panels, and components.
  • Install, repair, and maintain various types of industrial equipment and components.
  • React to equipment failures and carry out corrective measures as necessary.
  • Suggest solutions for continuous improvement of plant safety, reliability, and efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Certification in IET Wiring Regulations BS7671 to 17th/18th edition standard.
  • Completion of an electrical engineering apprenticeship at the trade level.
  • Experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in automated/PLC-controlled equipment, MCC, and SCADA systems.
  • Ability to interpret electrical, mechanical, and process schematics/specifications.

Working Conditions:

The core working week is 37 hours from Monday to Friday, with reasonable flexibility to accommodate personal obligations. Additional benefits include ongoing training and development, onsite parking, and great transport links.
