We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our team in Derby, UK. As a key member of our Mechanical Systems Engineering team, you will be responsible for defining the train system architecture, operational modes, and functionalities, taking into account external and internal requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain system requirements, ensuring consistency and compatibility between sub-systems specifications
- Perform train system FMECA in coordination with the RAMS team
- Define and implement train verification strategies in collaboration with engineering metiers, certification, and validation teams
- Write sub-system specifications and architecture descriptions, ensuring alignment with train level architecture
- Collaborate with suppliers to drive technical relationships, manage QCD commitments, and resolve technical issues
- Support the definition of applicable train configurations and ensure coordination between TSS, PU, and Metier on interfaces, performances, and technical issues resolution
- Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering with understanding of Electrical principles or other relevant discipline
- Strong experience in system engineering and knowledge integration environment
- Railway experience preferable, but not essential
- Experience in requirement management tools like DOORS would be an advantage
- Strong communication and customer orientation skills
- Ability to communicate with internal stakeholders and suppliers on a regular basis and accurately record actions and decisions
