Strategic Finance Advisor

Contract Duration: 6 Month contract (37 hours per week)

Work Arrangement: Remote

Overview: ARM is seeking a Strategic Finance Advisor to collaborate with the Senior Finance Business Partner in the formulation of annual revenue forecasts, overseeing financial performance, and managing the year-end account closure process.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide financial guidance and insights to designated Heads of Service.
2. Address routine and specialized inquiries regarding financial data and support.
3. Supervise daily cash flow and banking activities for both councils.
4. Conduct money market transactions in accordance with the councils' Treasury Management strategies.
5. Monitor financial performance related to capital projects.
6. Assist in the annual financial closure of the Capital Programme accounts.

Required Qualifications:
- Experience in municipal accounting.
- Strong knowledge of fundamental accounting principles.
- Background in budget formulation and final account closure.
- Proficiency in Tech One or comparable financial management systems.
- Familiarity with Business Objects or similar reporting applications.
- Advanced skills in Excel and Word.
- Experience in budget oversight.
- Competence in preparing financial and statistical reports.
- Understanding of Treasury Management practices.
