Early Career Teaching and Research Fellow in Korean Studies

The University of Edinburgh is seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual to fill the position of Early Career Teaching and Research Fellow in Korean Studies. This fixed-term appointment is ideal for a recent PhD graduate or early career researcher within four years of the award of their PhD.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching during semester time and will have the opportunity to focus on developing their research during non-teaching weeks. We are particularly interested in candidates whose work is interdisciplinary, with qualifications and training in the social sciences and connects Korea to broader East Asian and global issues.
Key Responsibilities- Teach and assess student performance at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
- Design and deliver course materials
- Contribute to the development of the curriculum in Korean Studies
- Support new fields of research on contemporary Korea
To be considered for this position, applicants must have a PhD in-hand in a relevant discipline, such as politics, international relations, sociology, media and communications, or social anthropology. Fluency in English and Korean languages is also required.
